The
Scottsdale Country Club now known as the Starfire Golf Club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole
combinations. The "King" Nine was designed by Arnold Palmer and
opened in 1988. Palmer also redesigned the existing "The Squire" and
"The Hawk" Nines, making them more up to date and challenging. The
terrain is fairly flat, and there are water hazards that come into play on
thirteen holes. The Scottsdale Country Cub features traditional courses with wide fairways and many trees that can affect your shots. Beautiful views of the Camelback Mountains are found directly southwest of the terrain while the McDowell Mountains can be viewed directly to the east. The signature hole is #8 on the East Nine Course, a 202-yard, par 3, requiring a carry over a lake that is decorated with a gorgeous fountain. The green is elevated and well-bunkered. This hole also offers lovely views of the surrounding mountains. The Scottsdale Country Club is an AZ4Golf Preferred Golf Course to play on your Scottsdale golf vacations!
